Propulsion Shafting for a Shipyard – India
India · Marine & Shipbuilding
Overview
Stancor Forgings supplied EN24 / 34CrNiMo6 Alloy Steel in 320 mm to 560 mm diameter for intermediate and propulsion shafting forged at a 6:1 reduction and finish machined in India, released against EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certificate with the heat treatment chart and ultrasonic report.
The challenge
The customer needed intermediate and propulsion shafting forged at a 6:1 reduction and finish machined that arrived to the ordered specification and size, on the build or shutdown slot, and fully traceable to a heat number — with the test records attached rather than promised.
What we did
We released 18 pieces of EN24 / 34CrNiMo6 Alloy Steel in 320 mm to 560 mm diameter, inspected before despatch, marked with the heat and part reference, and shipped against the programme with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certificate with the heat treatment chart and ultrasonic report and the ordered test and inspection reports in one document pack.
